Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet mess (spills or staining) in one session without having to swap out devices. They can also reduce space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads from an appropriate dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is easy, and the quick-start guide can get you up and running in no time. You'll have a a full dust bag, water tank and a hard floor.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops are spun at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you can choose to have the robot do a deep clean in the living and kitchen areas but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. automatic vacuum cleaner is able to recognize small obstacles that other models cannot. Its only issue is that it tends to hit walls and objects at full speed. However, a quick look at the cleaning history on the app will reveal precisely what the robot has accomplished, where it's going, and which obstacles it has encountered or avoided.
The docking station features an LCD display that shows the need for maintenance, such as emptying debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the water tank by itself by using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time, with the mop capable of operating for 184 minutes in Quiet mode and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. You can view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is well laid out and easy to understand although we would like to be able distinguish between a vacuum only or a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a clean area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's top robot vacuum and mop. In contrast to the model of last year, this one features two agitators in its mopping pad, which greatly improves carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that allows it to pick up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners could miss.
The Roborock model, just like the other two I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by having a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It is able to change its direction automatically and clean the objects without missing a step.
It's the most expensive model I've tried however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which also resumes the cleaning, a mop button that doubles up as a child-lock, and a home-button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml of water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-refilling.
The only downside I've found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount for washing manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery life and maintain your components. You'll need to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame considering the performance otherwise.

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive models available and comes with many additional features that set it apart. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and has a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. The mop is also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This feature is great because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from building up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.
